As I have posted the information on the medical insurance today I got a call from thentransplant center and they delivered the worst information possible to me today.
As of 10/20/2010 my transplant has been placed on hold due to financial reasons.
Now the $50,000.00 is needed more than ever. Right now I don't have Medicare part D and cannot get it until open enrollment at the end of the year. Even if I get the part D I still will have a 5,000 out of pocket expense just for medications.
If I can get the Cobra started (which cost about $600 a month) that will be short term help but I learned today that even though I will have Cobra in 45 days once I get the transplant all Cobra cost will have to be covered by me out of my pocket. Right now I'm waiting on the American Kidney Fund to pick that up for me. They will cover the medical only until I get a transplant.
Today has been a bad bad day.
I have cried, became angry, depressed and ready to explode all at the same time.
Now not only do I need donations more than ever, I also need to ask that you pray for me. I truly believe in the power of prayer and right now I need prayers more than ever as well.
