Transplant time.
As you read in the prior post, I had waited all day for the transplant to take place.
They first said 9am was my transplant time, however, finally at 3:30pm the surgery team showed up and the first thing they said was they would give me some medication to help me relax.
The next thing I knew was I woke up in ICU
So the medication really helped me relax, it knocked me out.
Once in ICU at about 6:30pm I was informed the surgery went well and I had been producing urine since the kidney was hooked up.
The nurses in ICU was rather impressed with the amount of urine output I had.
Besides have a sore throat and dry mouth I was doing awesome. I woke up and could already feel the difference in the way I felt even though I was still pretty drugged up.
