Are you joking, Free Medical Care????????

Ok as you know I try not to get to involved in all the political mess of everything going on but I had some person email me and told me that I was full of **** (God Bless You).

This person seems to think that all I have to do is go to any local hospital and I will receive the kidney transplant at no cost.

This person went on to say that he knew I was a liar and trying to scam people out of money for nothing.

He was nice enough to tell me if I checked in as a homeless person they would give me everything for free.

This is exactly what’s wrong with our health care system today. People honestly think they can get free care or I will get a free transplant if I lie to them and say I’m homeless. Even though I’m not far from being homeless, I still refuse to lie to the hospital and say that I am homeless to start with it would not make any difference at all in the care I received.

Since most hospitals don’t even do transplants, I would have to report to a transplant center. This has been done sir, and this is where I have got the information that is posted on my site. This is where the transplant centers only suggestion to proceed with a transplant was to host fund raisers. There are 3 companies that they sent me to host my fund raiser, but I have a lot of problems with doing a fund raiser through these people.
First they want to keep all the money, and then they want to approve or deny what I spend the money on and worst part of all they want to keep up to 50%. So I would be basically raising money for them since they do not actually take part in the fund raising part. Granted they may help set up a fund raiser but none of them would be walking the streets begging for money or trying to sell items.

So with all this information I took it and created Help Save My Life and I want to change that into the Help Save My Life Foundation to help other kidney transplant patients as well.

This is not something that I decided to do for fun and see if I could scam people out of money. I need a kidney transplant and cannot get one right now because I do not have the financial resources to proceed with a transplant. Read the letter from transplant, its posted on line.

Ignorance seems to be overwhelming these days. First if he would even do any basic check of any hospital emergency room, all the hospital is required to do is provide an exam and treat any life threatening injury or illness.

Granted being on dialysis does tend to reduce the possibility of a long life, it still is not considered life threatening. Dialysis will treat the kidney failure and no other action would be required for me to live. So that ends the ER trip with another very costly bill to me to pay out of pocket and still no transplant has been done.

Then on top of that the insurance would surely deny a bill if I went to the Emergency Room and asked to have a kidney transplant. So not only does that add a lot of out of pocket cost to me, it also adds to the cost to operate a hospital. It cost doctors, nurses and staff time that they could be attending to a critical patient. Not a kidney transplant that they probably know nothing about and cannot even think about doing a procedure like that.

Our hospitals have become a walk in clinic for people like this person that emailed me and thinks he can get free health care. Nothing is free. Now what alarms me even more this person claimed to have read my web site and still thinks I’m trying to scam people out of a lot of money. Now honestly if he had read my web site, he surely would have read the post dealing with the letter I got from transplant clearly stating that my transplant was placed on hold for financial reason.

Nothing was edited on that letter, there is a section blocked out that I want to keep private (I do have the right to keep information private if I so desire) But basically in the blocked out section had something that’s not public information and then addressed the issue that I would have to pay out of pocket for my insurance after the day of the transplant. The medical insurance cost alone is $700 a month.

Now just with that expense out of pocket that is a total of $4,200 for 6 months. Now this does not include the dental or vision insurance that I also have to pay out of pocket.
Not to mention if he had read my web site, he would have seen the cost of medication.
Not to repeat everything but I have no medical insurance now and no coverage to get medications and looking at that form he could have seen for 6 months and no insurance the cost will be over $21,600 out of pocket.

So I really don’t know what this person is thinking (well I don’t think he is thinking at all to be honest) but to be that stupid about health care is exactly why we have such a health care mess now.

During all the times of the Health Care Reforms I have been amazed at people and how stupid they really are when it comes to health care. I would bet a million bucks (if I had it) that these people screaming that we do not need health care reform has never lost everything in life because of a medical problem.

I have lost a home, a business, now 2 cars, everything because of kidney failure. I have had to wipe out my savings, 401k and pay out the wazoo for taking money out early and will be taxed again at the end of the year because that will count as income, even though I have already lost thousands for the early withdrawal.

I’m on the border line of being homeless again and having my power turned off and some ignorant person thinks if I lie and say I’m homeless I will get free care. Well your free care has cost me everything in the world.

Now keep in mind, I do not support our president. Never have and never will but he is right and we need to make serious changes in our health care. Look at Prudential, they were allowed to deny my short and long term disability and said everything was preexisting and not pay anything even though every month they did not hesitate to take my money for that coverage under our group plan. Even though nothing was preexisting, it’s supposed to be after 3 years of the first transplant, I’m no longer considered disabled.
I had the first transplant a little longer than 3 years and was no longer considered disabled because of the first transplant.

Yet once again, I have almost lost everything again in life. I went for over 8 months with no income at all. Because Prudential was allowed to simply say preexisting. And this ignorant person thinks we get free health care. All I can really say is wow.

I hope and pray that this person never needs to find out how bad our health care system really is. I think if he was in my position, the stress would be too much for him and it’s no telling what he would do because of the problems that were created from the delays in health care so he could pay for everything out of pocket. .

I also have to wonder how many people that are stating we don’t need health care reform have been denied a test or procedure because of their insurance. Seriously look at the transplant, even with Medicare they still denied my transplant. People think Medicare will take care of them, think again.

I wonder why we pay insurance companies millions so they can deny everything. Oh wait that’s right, we have to pay the CEO A Million a year to sit back and destroy the lives of others while his company tries everything they can to deny all payments and keep all the money for his bonuses.

At some point we the people we have to stand up and say enough is enough.

I honestly want to start a nationwide event and just for a period of 2 months no one pay for any medical insurance, or short or long term insurance. We need to wake up the insurance companies and if they lost all income for a couple of months, I think that would certainly get their attention and hopefully make some serious changes in the way they do business. We the people have allowed too much to happen against up for too long now.

But first I need to raise a lot of money to get this Free Kidney Transplant that I need. Once I can get this free transplant, I think then I might have time to proceed with operation No Pay for the insurance companies…
