As of 10/08/09 I have been approved for transplant.
The patient review committee reviewed all of my medical records and all of the pre-transplant test and they decided to approve my case and move forward with my transplant.
As soon as they have approval from the insurance I will be placed on the waiting list.
Which now no matter what I will start to accumulate time on the list. If for some reason the donors don't work out all of this time will be applied to accumulated wait time. Wait time for a deceased donor is about 18 months.
By having living donors I could be transplanted within a couple of months.
As soon as the insurance gives the ok, they will start testing the donors.
That's the awesome update for today.
