Thank GOD!!!!

I did have some excellent news and I was so happy about it,
I forgot to post it.

I found out last Monday that I should be approved for Cobra Coverage through the American Kidney Fund sometime within the week.

Now the only downfall to the American Kidney Fund paying for this insurance, is the day of the transplant, they no longer provide any assistance with the medical insurance payments.

It’s almost like they are setting you up for failure. We will help you get a transplant, but you are on your own once you get the transplant and need the medications.

So with this, I can drastically reduce the amount that I need to raise. Now the total could be about $15,000.

With the medical insurance alone, I can expect to pay about $700 a month for my medical insurance. As long as I can maintain the insurance, the medication cost will be reduced from $3,600 a month to $1,700 a month.

With the insurance and medication I would still need about $2,400 a month just for the medication and insurance. And believe it or not Disability comes no where close to getting that paid.

Then with being out of work for up to 6 months post transplant that would be a total of $14,400. That amount does not include other medical expenses that I will have to pay for out of pocket nor does it include any of the co-pays that I will be responsible for.

So the fund raisers are more important to me now more than ever and it seems I have a goal that I should be able to reach.

So I just thank God that this has happened and now I will at least have Cobra Coverage until the day I am transplanted.

The light at the end of the tunnel just got a lot brighter for me.

Once again, I want to thank everyone for everything, without each and everyone that has been here throughout all of this with me, I really don’t know where I would be today without you…

Thank You and God Bless…
